Capacity building programs equip individuals, communities, or organisations with the skills and resources they need to thrive. This empowers them to become self-sufficient, solve problems, and achieve goals. It helps individuals to gain skills, knowledge, confidence, and improve job prospects. It empowers communities to collaborate better, and drive social change. For organisations, it helps enhance performance, adapt to change, and achieve sustainable growth.
Individuals, such as Parents, Siblings and Family of PwSN, Rehabilitation Professionals and Regular School Teachers can benefit from these programs. People looking forward to working in the domain of Special Needs can also benefit, since these programs are concept oriented and outcome-driven. Organisations, such as Regular schools, Special schools, NGOs, Corporates, Colleges and Universities, Hospitals and any other primary responders, such as Police, Nurse, Lab technicians etc. can get a great deal of help from these programs.
Capacity building programs for parents, families, communities and teachers of individuals with special needs are crucial. These programs equip them with the knowledge and skills to navigate specific needs, fostering effective communication and collaboration. This empowers parents and teachers, leading to a more supportive environment and improved outcomes for individuals with special needs. It creates a stronger support system, empowers, boosts confidence and creates a ripple effect, empowering individuals to create a brighter future for individuals with special needs.
We have a range of services from the Capacity Building wing. There are programs for Parents/Families of PwSN, such as ‘Mastering the Art of Parenting: across the Lifespan’, ‘Early Intervention Training Program’, ‘Managing the Adolescent: A Parent Guide’ and ‘Adulting and Independent Living: A Parent Guide’ etc. For organisations, we have sensitization programs and training modules focused on accessibility and acceptance through awareness. For professionals, we have trainings in the domain of ‘Using Play Techniques in Special Classrooms’, ‘Art-based interventions’, ‘Basics of Speech Therapy’, ‘Understanding Sexuality in Special Needs Individuals’, ‘/Comorbidity of Psychopathology in PwSN’ etc.
Our trainers are experienced in dealing with Individuals with Special Needs and their families for over a decade and possess skills and empathy to delegate that learning through these courses. The content is developed based on real-life events that come from our in- house resources, the language used is vernacular and the module is based on relevant psycho-social context. We also provide access to an authentic community of parents and professionals for new parents and learners. Our approach is holistic and we provide post- learning support to the learners through one-on-one sessions and counselling.
There are no specific academic qualifications required for Parents, Professionals and Organizations to participate. The requirements might vary from course to course, for example, a parent might be more interested to enrol in a workshop on ‘Handling Parental Stress’ than ‘How to Identify Special Needs in Regular Classrooms’. We are open to mixed groups.
We offer programs with flexible schedules and durations to accommodate individual needs. We have 20 hour long courses, 8 hour long courses as well as 2 hours of bite-size introductory engagement courses spread over weekdays and weekends. Please visit our website or contact us for current program offerings.
