Vocational rehabilitation is a program designed to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain employment. It is beneficial for individuals with physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities who want to work or improve their employability.
Vocational rehabilitation programs offer a range of services, including career counselling, skills assessment for interest-ability matching, job training, internship opportunities, job placement assistance (both supported and open employment), accommodations in the workplace, and ongoing support services.
Individuals with documented disabilities that interfere with their ability to work or pursue employment goals are eligible for vocational rehabilitation services. The age range to get assessed for Vocational readiness starts after 15 years of age and employment starts at the age of 18 years.
Vocational rehabilitation programs aim to match individuals with disabilities to a wide range of employment opportunities based on their skills, interests, and abilities. At DeepRanjani Foundation, we have five in-house workstations for training, interning and supported employment. The workstations are Handicrafts, Bakery, Spice Making, Stitching and Multimedia.
The duration of vocational rehabilitation support varies depending on individual needs, goals, and progress. Some individuals may require short-term assistance to obtain employment, while others may need ongoing support to maintain their jobs or advance their careers. However, DeepRanjani extends an ongoing support to the employee and employer to ensure retention and ethical practices.
After spending a considerable amount of time in Special Schools, when it comes to finding a meaningful engagement and employment opportunity, most of the individuals with special needs find a block at the end of the road. DeepRanjani creates a unique space where the adolescents and adults can not only find a meaningful employment opportunity, but also age-appropriate companionships.
Special needs consultancy aims at making inclusive spaces, and involves providing guidance and support to organisations to create environments that accommodate individuals with special needs. It is crucial for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring everyone can participate fully.
Any organisation, including hospitals, NGOs, schools, and corporate companies, can benefit from inclusive setup consultancy to ensure accessibility, accommodate diverse needs, and promote inclusion in their spaces and services.
By implementing inclusive practices and accommodations, organisations can create environments where individuals with special needs feel welcome, supported, and empowered to fully participate in activities, programs, and services, leading to improved outcomes and quality of life. There are also legal and government aid provisions for organisations that are inclusive.
Our consultancy offers a range of services, including accessibility assessments, staff training on disability awareness and inclusion, policy development, environmental modifications, and ongoing support to ensure sustainable inclusion efforts.
In addition to legal compliance, inclusive setup consultancy can enhance organisational reputation, customer satisfaction, employee morale, and innovation by tapping into the diverse perspectives and talents of individuals with special needs.
Common challenges include lack of awareness, resources, and expertise. We address these challenges by providing education, customised solutions, and ongoing support tailored to the unique needs and goals of each organisation.
We collaborate closely with organisations to understand their needs, goals, and resources, co-create tailored solutions, provide comprehensive training and support, and continuously evaluate and adjust strategies to ensure sustainability and impact.
Partnering with DeepRanjani Foundation brings specialised expertise, experience, and resources, saving organisations time, effort, and costs while ensuring high-quality, evidence-based inclusive setup initiatives that yield meaningful results.
Capacity building programs equip individuals, communities, or organisations with the skills and resources they need to thrive. This empowers them to become self-sufficient, solve problems, and achieve goals. It helps individuals to gain skills, knowledge, confidence, and improve job prospects. It empowers communities to collaborate better, and drive social change. For organisations, it helps enhance performance, adapt to change, and achieve sustainable growth.
Individuals, such as Parents, Siblings and Family of PwSN, Rehabilitation Professionals and Regular School Teachers can benefit from these programs. People looking forward to working in the domain of Special Needs can also benefit, since these programs are concept oriented and outcome-driven. Organisations, such as Regular schools, Special schools, NGOs, Corporates, Colleges and Universities, Hospitals and any other primary responders, such as Police, Nurse, Lab technicians etc. can get a great deal of help from these programs.
Capacity building programs for parents, families, communities and teachers of individuals with special needs are crucial. These programs equip them with the knowledge and skills to navigate specific needs, fostering effective communication and collaboration. This empowers parents and teachers, leading to a more supportive environment and improved outcomes for individuals with special needs. It creates a stronger support system, empowers, boosts confidence and creates a ripple effect, empowering individuals to create a brighter future for individuals with special needs.
We have a range of services from the Capacity Building wing. There are programs for Parents/Families of PwSN, such as ‘Mastering the Art of Parenting: across the Lifespan’, ‘Early Intervention Training Program’, ‘Managing the Adolescent: A Parent Guide’ and ‘Adulting and Independent Living: A Parent Guide’ etc. For organisations, we have sensitization programs and training modules focused on accessibility and acceptance through awareness. For professionals, we have trainings in the domain of ‘Using Play Techniques in Special Classrooms’, ‘Art-based interventions’, ‘Basics of Speech Therapy’, ‘Understanding Sexuality in Special Needs Individuals’, ‘/Comorbidity of Psychopathology in PwSN’ etc.
Our trainers are experienced in dealing with Individuals with Special Needs and their families for over a decade and possess skills and empathy to delegate that learning through these courses. The content is developed based on real-life events that come from our in- house resources, the language used is vernacular and the module is based on relevant psycho-social context. We also provide access to an authentic community of parents and professionals for new parents and learners. Our approach is holistic and we provide post- learning support to the learners through one-on-one sessions and counselling.
There are no specific academic qualifications required for Parents, Professionals and Organizations to participate. The requirements might vary from course to course, for example, a parent might be more interested to enrol in a workshop on ‘Handling Parental Stress’ than ‘How to Identify Special Needs in Regular Classrooms’. We are open to mixed groups.
We offer programs with flexible schedules and durations to accommodate individual needs. We have 20 hour long courses, 8 hour long courses as well as 2 hours of bite-size introductory engagement courses spread over weekdays and weekends.
